Huntington Bank

One day I received in the mail, a one hundred dollar certificate from Huntington Bank if I open a checking account with them. I’ve known that Chase has done this offer before for new accounts, but this is the first time I’ve seen another bank make this offer. It must be a common marketing tactic though. Perhaps Huntington is opening some new branches in my area.

There are some strings attached to getting the one hundred dollars. First you must deposit at least twenty-five dollars when you open the account and you must either have direct deposit or make five Check card transactions within sixty days. You will receive the bonus after ninety days, however you should take caution with these types of offers, because they usually come with a stipulation that you must keep the account open for at least 6 months, or they will not only take the hundred bucks back, but charge you interest on that money too.

Seems to be pretty standard terms. The Check Card is a Visa, which you can use as a debit card or as a charge card. I suggest you don’t use it as a debit, because each time you make a purchase and have to enter your PIN you will be charged twenty-five cents.

Features:
Free Bill Pay

Secure Text banking
Visa Check Card
Discounts on new Huntington Installment Loans

I have never been a customer of Huntington Bank before so I can’t say if it is a good bank or not. Please share your experiences with this bank and leave comments, and I will add them to the site.
