Kroger 1-2-3 Rewards MasterCard

The 1-2-3 Rewards MasterCard enables faithful Kroger customers to gain three points per dollar spent on Kroger family brand products. This credit card is nice for those who like to indulge in Private Selection, Psst, and other Kroger brand delicacies. I know I have a soft spot for their one bite brownies and blueberry muffins. Another great benefit is the amount of money you can save at the gas pump when you use this card.

Kroger recently had a spat with VISA over how much they charged per transaction and stopped accepting VISA brand credit cards at Smith's Foods & Drug chain and Foods Co. locations for seven months from March 2019 when they announced the ban until October 2019 when they began accepting VISA cards again.

Do You Recommend This Credit Card?

This is a good credit card that currently offers a great fuel discount, keep in mind you will need to redeem a minimum of 100 fuel points to activate the 25 cents off bonus.
The consumer who frequently picks up their groceries at Kroger stores and spends their fuel points at a Kroger or Shell gas station. A minor perk worth mentioning; you can use this card as your Plus shopper's card, which lets you carry one less card, and reduces the hassle of shuffling through your wallet at the checkout. I know that more than once I haven't been able to locate my shopper's card while going through the checkout, and I missed out on fuel points only to frustratingly find the Plus card moments later while I double checked my wallet in the car before I drove home. Although you can tell the cashier your phone number if you've lost your Plus card.

Is The Interest Rate Competitive

The interest rate is very competitive for those who have excellent credit and are approved at the 14.24% interest rate. Applicants with a medium or poor credit record will most likely be approved at a higher interest rate, which can be up to 26.24%. Please keep this in mind if you choose to pursue this card.

How Do You Like the Rewards

The rewards are comparable to most reward credit cards when you factor in earning 2 points per dollar spent at their stores is equal to 2% back in coupons. The rewards improve even more when you take into account that Kroger brand products yield 3 points per dollar. However I do not recommend using this card for transactions outside of their establishment.
